You need to track your personal sleep schedule so you can learn when the best time to have a lucid dream. Keep a journal and jot down the dream you just had when you wake up. You should take note of the time that you wake up from a dream and compare it to the time you fell asleep. When you enter the Rapid Eye Movement stage of your sleep, that is when lucid dreaming occurs. A simple lucid dreaming technique you can use is waking up earlier than the usual time you wake up, stay conscious for about an hour and a half then go back to bed to sleep again. The brain would immediately go into REM and you would have a semblance of control over your dream.

Some researchers consider the Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dreaming Technique as one of the most effective lucid dreaming technique. This technique is all about deciding that a person would be lucid during the next dream. When you get to bed, the conscious mind will keep on concentrating on remembering a dream. By concentrating constantly that you will remember the previous dream, the brain would pay close attention to the next dreaming. You will be aware that you are in a dream state the moment the dream begins.

Your dream schedule’s task is to supplement the dream journal. By keeping a journal, these lucid dreaming techniques would help you record all the details of your dream. Remembering all the details would help you to be more aware of your dreams. This would allow you to perform another lucid dreaming technique, which are reality checks. This is to train your mind to check if you are awake in a conscious state so you can perform this task in the dream state.
