When toddlers learn how to use the bathroom without help, parents become happy and many will want this eventually. However, to ensure that toddlers are trained accordingly, it will take hard work and parents must be ready. It is also called toilet training and no matter what it is called, the goal is one; to develop toilet skills in the child. The sea of information and advice on this topic can actually confuse many but this needs not be the case. When embarking on training toddlers for the potty, people will need clear strategies that will work.

This article is tailored to give all parents the practical tips towards potty training toddlers for success. It is nothing complicated and the following proven steps are sure to work. The initial thing for parents or guardians is to have some positive attitude and know that it is actually possible to tame toddlers and train them good skills like this one. Parents can only undertake potty training for toddlers that are ready for the task and knowing the best age for this is crucial. Although it is a bit difficult to know about the age of the toddler that is ideal to train, it is good to train those that can understand simple instructions.

Some toddlers may not bloom as expected with their age and others will be sharper for their age. With this in mind, it will be easier to look at the various relevant aspects as the child trains for the potty. With a ready child, it is time to consider the various devise that will help the toddler to train. When thinking of the devices, the options can be potty chairs, adapter seats and finally the adult toilet. It is vital to specialize with a single devise so as not to bring confusion to the child while training. Each devise will have its advantages and flaws.

Potty chairs are the most suited toilet devises that will enable a toddler transition from the diaper stage. This method is definitely recommended to parents who want to start of potty training toddlers. A lot of patience is needed though but once there is a good routine formed, it will be much easier for the child to master the devise. This is the way to go and for toddlers that are ready, this will be the transition from diapers into a better way of eliminating their waste. For sure, with success, caretakers will be glad to forget the old methods. Parents should not expect too much at first because it is only fair to give toddlers room to be who they really are; children.

Parents find discipline for toddlers very difficult because they have to show them they love them and still be strict while doing it. It is therefore important to make sure that the rules are structured in a way that the toddler understands them and does not find them too difficult to follow. Toddlers will always test their boundaries and see just how much they can push their parents to get their way.

Parents should be careful here so that they do not cave in to whatever the toddler wants. However, they should be very strict yet loving when doing this and realize that the toddler will fuss when they cannot do what they want. Before implementing any form of disciplinary measure, a parent should know and understand their child. The toddler should trust the parent enough to allow them to set limits to what they can do so that they can feel safe in their presence.

The most common form of discipline is time out because it is not too involving. Toddlers will do whatever it takes not to get another time out because they feel bad when they are made to sit in a corner alone. To calculate how long a toddler should sit alone, take a minute for every year they have in age. Ignoring temper tantrums is also important because it shows a child that they will not gain control of the situation by throwing one. Setting limits and being consistent with them is another good way that parents can use as a form of discipline. Toddlers also like being praised for the good things they do and parents should create an environment where the child hears some positive reinforcement as well.

Discipline should not be conducted in the home but thrown to the winds when out of the home. This means that if a toddler misbehaves when they are outside, they should be punished there and not wait until they get home later. This is because they will be punished and they may not even remember why they are being punished and will not connect it to their actions. Toddlers should also be punished away from their friends or other people so that their self esteem does not get compromised. Discipline for toddlers is very important because it sets the right foundation for a toddler and shapes the characters that the child will take up in future.

Carers need to look out for the top signs that a toddler or a child is gifted early on in life.
With these signs, toddlers will be categorized as people abilities that can be harnessed to greatness. Some experts are convinced that the true ability of a child is seen since they are born and for this, parents need to be there to nurture the abilities. For kids or toddlers that are not older than 2 years, the following are the signs that parents should check. The signs can start from infancy and the best advice for guardians and parents is to be on the look out for the following. First, children with a special gift will be in a position to recognize carers early. Whether the carer is a mother or father, the child will clearly seem to recognize them.

Kids that start smiling really early will definitely show giftedness. This is especially so when it starts early in life for the child. These signs will surely make some toddlers stand out from a crowd of kids and this is definitely a good clue as well. Others will show signs of unusual high alertness for a child. This will be characterized by their ability to see the various changes and to recognize people as well. Some toddlers will also show great interest in books when they keep on turning pages.

Many times, their fascination is ignited by their innate abilities to comprehend and this should be noted as well. Musical instruments like pianos can also work to see toddlers gather their passion and show prowess in so doing. An 11 month toddler playing with shape sorters will also be considered quite gifted. Others will understand instructions by 18 months. Many are the things to look out for that will facilitate recognizing gifted toddlers. But for parents that do not observe the signs, this does not mean that their children will not excel in their lives because with good training comes excellence.

Toddlers are some of the most fascinating people anyone can find because of their keen nature. Their need to explore has definitely created the need to have toys that will meet their goals and satisfy their curiosity. They love to explore while imitating their adult caretakers. Parents or guardians should be on the forefront to know the needs of their kids regarding toys for a pleasant time during this stage. The most suitable toys are those that are able to meet all the needs of toddlers. Toddlers like to push, lug, knock, empty, fill and many more.

These actions will make toddlers very happy. Also, they will enjoy scribbling away on note books as well as looking at fascinating pictures that excite them. At this important stage in life, it is critical for toddlers to use it so that it can bring out the best in them. It is vital to take caution first and this will be for the good of the child. It is good to look at the safety of toys before getting them. This will ensure that there are no regrets. Never take chances with toys that may be putting kids at risk and this is the best way forward.

Push and pull toys will make great playing items for toddlers. They will even be better if they are enhanced with some sound like music. Stimulating toddlers with these sounds will greatly enhance their development. Colours are also key and they should be visually stimulating enough to suit the children. In this respect, it is important to take into account the gender of the child so as to buy the right or most suitable colours. Without peddles, ride-on are great and they see to it that toddlers have a ball. This will see them use their feet to steer the little vehicles and they will have a ball each time they play.

Blocks and puzzles are other ideal toys that need to be considered by parents for their kids. Blocks should be kept a good size to avoid accidents. Blocks that are tiny and other toy accessories can definitely be swallowed by toddlers and this is crucial. Balls that are of large size also go well with toddlers. They will be fascinated to say the least with the balls as they play around with them. Others that can be included as well are bath toys and simple dolls. There are so many other examples to talk about and this will work to ensure that children grow up happy with excellent development.

Curious as can be, toddlers are always very active and excited to experience new things in life. The thing that us parents like to do when trying to get our own accomplishments complete for the day is to occupy our children any way we can. The problem is that if the activities aren’t directed toward teaching them something meaningful then the time spent is simply wasted. In other words, if activities for toddlers do not teach and challenge our children, chances are they will have a much harder time learning in school. You don’t have to go out of your way to make sure your toddler’s activities are useful and fun at the same time.

You should be able to come up with simple, fun activities for your toddlers to enjoy while teaching them important life skills such as reading, simple math and problem solving. Flash cards, story time and art sessions are all good activities for toddlers but going a step further, these activities can be spruced up a bit to make them even more fun! For example you can teach your toddler reading, counting and spelling skills all in one by creating a storyboard on paper that needs your toddler’s help in filling out certain easy words, identifying certain items or animals throughout the story board and by counting up things throughout the story! There’s nothing like seeing your toddler have fun while learning so many things at the same time.

A very important point to keep in mind is that forcing new activities on toddlers can prove too hard for them. Take things slowly and introduce things as your toddler is comfortable, because introducing too much too fast can result in frustration for both toddlers and parents. An easy to way to do this is to limit the amount of activities you introduce to your toddler in a week, no more than 2-3 is a good number. This is important because it can really help your toddler get the most out of the learning activities you do introduce.

As long as the activities are not too hard to learn, things should go pretty smoothly and before you know it you’ll have a toddler who has a lot of fun and learns lots of new things. These kinds of activities for toddlers can also really help to improve a child’s knowledge to the point that they will exceed after starting school. As long as fun and focus are the main aspects of your activities then your toddler can benefit more than you might even imagine.

Because parents want to lay a good foundation for their children, they take them to the best schools they can afford. To get the best schools, parents have to research for a long time to ensure that they have looked for the school they want for their toddler. There are several aspects to consider when a parent is looking for a school for their toddler. Among the first is the amount of fees required and whether they can afford it. It is actually a big limiting factor as to which school a toddler will attend. Other aspects include distance from home and how long the school or day care will take care of the toddler before it is time to go home. There are many schools for toddlers that are affordable and that offer a good foundation for a toddler.

In the past, children did not have to go to school until they were about four or five years old. However, due to the changing of times and circumstances, parents have to take up second jobs or further their education and they are forced to enroll their toddlers to school. For this reason, the main place where a toddler will shape their characters is more in school than at home. Because of this, they should be able to offer all that a parent feels is good enough for their toddler in their formative years. This includes being educationally and socially nurturing to the toddler, being homely enough and being caring enough. Some of the basic life skills that toddlers should learn here is how to use the toilet and basic hygiene skills. They should also educate the children on basic communication skills as well as courtesy and how to treat other people.

Alphabet and numbers can also be introduced to a three year old toddler. Toddlers need to play in order for them to develop well and teachers in such schools know when to stop teaching and let the child go out. Therefore, this important developmental tool should not be ignored. In addition, growing toddlers need their rest and should always take an afternoon nap after playing with other toddlers and toys. The above points are some of the most important to consider when a parent is looking for a school for their young toddler. They should teach the toddler that there are other adults in the world who can be trusted other than their parents.

Babies always love to play games, and particularly they love to spend one-on-one quality time with their parents. Easy games offer great stimulations for young child and assist in a young child growth by developmentally appropriate activities. This article provides some simple toddler games that can be played with them and also this provides developmental growth for them.

The easy and simple game to play with toddlers is where the baby is and this is very common for everyone, particularly appropriate for young toddlers. Hide a small toy or baby doll under blankets or under pillow or under clothes or behind any objects when a toddler is watching their parents. Ask the toddlers where the baby went and watch the excitement when the baby finds the baby doll with great happiness. This game makes the toddler very happy with the feeling of success as they find the doll each time.

Toddlers always love to make different noises, especially when they are playing with instruments which are not a musical instrument. Gather some old oatmeal food boxes or any other food containers and keep it around the toddlers in the circle form, also parents can make use of old pots and pans and place it inverted around the toddlers. Make the young toddlers to use his/her hands or any wooden spoons to make some noise by banging on the pans or containers. This activity is the great game for the young toddlers and keeping them very busy while preparing dinner.

Easy bowling games can be created by using empty bottles, and this can be made by setting up 3 or 4 bottles and then give the young child a large ball. Make the toddler to use this ball on how to hit the empty bottles and how to move the ball towards the bottles, and this is a very enjoyable game for toddlers to watch the bottles bowl over. Build a home-made cave, and hiding in a homemade cave, particularly with their parents, can be a lot of fun for them. The home-made cave can be made by covering a blanket on the kitchen table or push two small sofas together and place it with a small blanket or sheet, and thus cave is done. Every toddler always love to express themselves, just turn on any fast music or track, and get down on the knees to dance with the child, as expensive toys does not bring such an enjoyment in the toddlers face.

Parents of an ADHD sufferer throwing tantrums throughout the day without showing signs of exhaustion know how difficult it is to deal with ADHD. These parents are exhausted from taking care of their ADHD toddler, and often they blame themselves for their toddler’s condition adding to their suffering. The toddler’s behavior itself and the people’s comment toward the toddler can hurt a parent emotionally. Thus, it’s not only important to develop treatments for ADHD in toddlers, it’s also important to develop support for the parents of these toddlers too.

Foremost to these supports is the proper diagnosis of toddlers showing signs of hyperactivity typical in ADHD. It’s natural for toddlers to be unruly so that some ADHD in toddlers are often dismissed as natural toddler behavior. This situation does not help parents at all; in fact, it can only add up to their frustration of trying to understand their toddler. Lesson to parents: do not hesitate to consult an informed doctor if you see signs of ADHD in your toddler.

If you determined that your toddler has ADHD, get as much help as you can from family, friends, and especially from support groups that knows ADHD in toddlers very well. Set aside your prejudice about support groups because in your situation they are the best to provide you with answers regarding your toddler’s behavior. You can also ask a government social worker to visit you personally to provide tips in raising a toddler with ADHD. Ask the social worker or your support group for some good self-help books or ADHD manual for parents that can help you understand and cope with your toddler’s behavior.

ADHD toddlers do not want unexpected changes in their usual routine so that it’s best to plan your ADHD toddler’s daily routine to help them control their tantrums. Make your toddler’s daily routine as familiar to him or her as possible by doing exact activity at the exact time. And it’s very important for parents with ADHD toddler to treat themselves to something nice every now and then like a trip to the spa or a nice short vacation. ADHD in toddlers can be physically and emotionally draining so that grab an opportunity to regain your strength back because you can give more to your toddler if you give more to yourself also.

There are a few of times in a child’s life when they go through a period of rapid development that would seem almost impossible. The first is, of course, after they are born and they go from a tiny infant into a baby capable of sitting up and making sounds and connecting. During this time, children learn to walk and talk; they learn to use the restroom and dress themselves; and they start to learn how to interact with others and determine their own place in the world. But maybe the most fascinating stage of development is that of the toddler years – when a baby goes from one to three – because of the changes that occur in a child.

Before a child turns two years old, a lot seems to happen in terms of their development and it happens very rapidly. By 14 months, a child can walk well on its own, crawl upstairs, drink from a cup and use a spoon and can build things composed of two blocks as opposed to one. By 15 months, they can use 10-15 words, say “no” and understand its context and can indicate when their diaper is wet. At 16 months old they are able to walk both backwards and sideways and they can run although they fall easily; they can use phrases that involve both nouns and adjectives and nouns together; they can climb stairs and furniture and they begin throwing tantrums.

Then they hit 2 and the real fun beings in terms of what to expect the toddler years – this is when the talking and interacting with people really starts. Children typically weigh 24 pounds, are around 30 inches tall and they have 12 of their 20 total temporary teeth (by 2 ½ they will have acquired the full set). Their gross motor skills become well-defined; they can walk up stairs on their feet, build towers with multiple blocks, control a spoon and become toilet trained during the day. Their vocabulary also sees a dramatic improvement – they know about 350 words and can follow simple commands and dress themselves. They also begin to realize that they are separate people although other children are still just “objects” to them which is why the “everything is mine” phase starts.

The period after this is filled with many more jumps in development. They are able to participate in parallel play – playing alongside other children well although still not with them. They are able to anticipate a day’s routine and the need to nap slowly starts to decrease. They being playing with their toys in imaginative ways and completing puzzles as well. This time is filled with great change is one of the most formative times in a child’s life so it’s important to understand what to expect the toddler years.
